Indian PM Modi greets people of Sri Lanka on their 67th Independence Day

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings to the people of Sri Lanka, on their 67th Independence Day.
Prime Minister Modi took to twitter for extending his wishes.
“On their Independence Day, my greetings to people of Sri Lanka. The bonds of history, culture and shared values that we share are unbreakable, tweeted Prime Minister Modi.
“My best wishes for the development of Sri Lanka in the years to come. I look forward to welcoming President Sirisena later this month,” he added.
President Pranab Mukherjee in his message to Sri Lankan counterpart Maithripala Sirisena said India and Sri Lanka are close neighbours with a long standing relationship of friendship and cooperation based on shared linguistic, religious and cultural traditions.
He also said that these ties have matured over time to embrace all areas of contemporary significance. He expressed confidence that the traditional bonds between India and Sri Lanka will expand and flourish to the mutual benefit of the two countries in the years to come.
