Sri Lankan maid jumps to death in Dubai
A Sri Lankan girl was found dead in International City in Dubai on Friday evening. It is reported that she jumped off the balcony of her 4th floor accommodation. Aged 26, Anupama had started working for Jen Perfect cleaning company in Dubai four months ago.
The owner of the company, Terin, who is also a Sri Lankan, said he was shocked to find out about her death. “I don’t know what happened and why she did it,” he said.
The apartment in International City housed the girls who worked in his company. Terin insisted that he had no clue that something was bothering Anupama.
“I haven’t asked the girls anything. They are now being questioned by the CID.”
This is not the first time that Anupama has worked in Dubai. Earlier she used to work for a garment factory, before going back to Sri Lanka. Terin informed that her body is now moved to Rashid Hospital, and is pending for the final investigation report. “I have already informed her family,” he said.
He confirmed that another employee of his, Ameela, also Sri Lankan, has been arrested in this connection.
“He has been working for me for a year now.”
When asked if he had a role to play in her death, Terin refused to comment. “I don’t know. I hear they had a fight.” A Silicon Oasis resident, who had hired Anupama to work in her house a few times, was told about the news when she had called the company.
“I can’t believe she is dead,” she recalled. “She was such a fun-loving girl. Always smiling and chirpy. She didn’t look like a Sri Lankan and spoke good Hindi. “She was very good at her work. She had also worked at two of my friends’ house and they were all very happy with her.
“She never told me about anything that was upsetting her.”
The resident, however, revealed that Ameela had apparently told her friend that he was upset with the boss, and claimed he was harassing Anupama. The case is now being investigated by the Rashidiya police.

Over to you Hon. Dilan Perera as this is another tragic news received from a girl working in the middle east and another person is going to come back to Sri Lanka in a Cofin. It has been reported that annually several maids come back to Sri Lanka in Coffins?????
the major reason behind this will be a sexual harassment. no other reason in fact, as most of the house maids ferrying to m east because of their poverty, leaving even below 1 year old babies, of course for their atleast ordinary and basic ambitions, for achieving these, these innocent maids has to face those critical and vicious instances.
see even before they depart from sl these innocent maids asked to come for medicals and signing papers ect to the city cmb but these people even do not know what they are doing, but destruction their poverty is their main goals sealed in their mind.
apart from this, these agency brokers and officials cheat them to stay another day here in cmb for the rest of their works are being preplaned and these officials exposes them like a managing director, so these innocent lives trust them and agrees for the stay and eventually next day these maids know for what ground they ask them to stay for.
do we think that these innocent lives slept with these lusters happily???
this is what the actual scene happening in cmb for the hm before departing.
i remember when i was coming from cinema at maradana late evening, a girl around 24 aged was crying and following me , at once i stoped and asked why are u following me ?non stopingly she was crying and finally she said that her agency people ask her to stay for another day for the rest of the paper works and i informed home and booked a lodge near by but these people are forcing me to stay with them by telling so many reasons like ” we can go for dinner in a good restaurant and shopping things around ect but i was not agreed and they are keep calling my cell phone i dono what to do , these cmb is very new to me, iam stranded here so pls show me a way, I came alone from ratnapura. finally i called them and said that she will be there tommorrow on time and i took her to my house safely.
we at home advised her lots of things and its been a long time now but now she is in a position here and there in abu dhabi. still whenever she arrives sl never forget our family by thanking big bashes.
so the sorrows, depressions, pressures and mentally upsets are starts from their home country before their journey.
