‘No surrendering LTTE cadres were killed’
LTTE cadres were not killed when they surrendered to the army during the war, says Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. “Why should the government, which directly looked after the family of LTTE leaders, kill those who surrendered to the military?” he questioned.
He made these statements during a function today (August 01) presenting the Defence Ministry report on ‘Humanitarian Mission Factual Analysis’ to foreign missions in Sri Lanka.
Addressing the gathering at the event being held at the Hilton Colombo he revealed that 11,000 former LTTE cadres have been rehabilitated and reintegrated to society thus far.
On the topic of Channel-4 reporters inquiring from Maj. Gen. Shavendra Silva, whether Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had given orders to kill surrendering Tamil Tiger cadres, he expressed “this was absolutely false.”
“The sole purpose of these allegations is to discredit Sri Lanka and disrupt the prevailing peace in the country.”
Medical supplies were released to the North even up to the last day of the humanitarian mission, which ended on May 18, 2009, he further stressed.

Mr Gotabhaya Rajapaksa only has back born straightly,other our politicans nobody has back borns at all unfortunity.Our other politicans speaking just for them own supports to get this our defence security done excellents work for country.This defence security more then 30 years war finished his 4 years periouds.

The LTT leader, the late Mr Nadeshan and the LTT Political Chief, the late Mr Pulidevan and their families and LTT Political cadres who surrendered with them were slaughtered by SL Army.

The LTT was not Government; GOSL is a government. That’s the difference, machans.
LTT slaughtered 800 policemen and bombed the Dalada Maligawa; what did the Sinhala Government do? They identified the leaders who did that job and made them Cabinet Minister and Chief Minister.
Then the Government catches the guy who bought the guns and the ships for the LTT and let him enjoy luxury in Visumpaya.
Had they caught the LTT Leader, the “settapochchi” man, cannot imagine where he will be now. Maybe the Sinhala Government make him Deputy President of Sri Lanka and let him stay in Janadhipathi Mandiraya.

The Tamils did not get what they want. The tamils had a political leadership (Federal Party, TULF) which was never listened to by the Sinhala leaders.
The LTT took over the leadership of the tamils and went on a killing spree, destroying valuable assets. What did the Sinhala leadership do? They sent the Army to kill the Tamils and destroy everything in the North and East.
What I am saying is that there is no difference between the Tamil leadership (the LTT) and the Sinhala leadership (GOSL).
Both do not care about people; both want to kill people; both get satisfaction in seeing blood flow from the human body.
The tamil people want to live peacefully and the sinhala people want to live peacefully too.
But the leaders of the tamil (LTT) and the leaders of the sinhala (GOSL) will not let the people live in peace.
Both leaders use money to buy guns; they are interested in buying guns because few people get big commissions.
As a tamil, I can say that no tamil wants to see Karuna or Pillayan or KP or others who are hanging on to the sinhala leaders. They are all killers, ruthless killers who have to be jailed.
I cannot understand why the sinhala people like their leaders? They are the same as the LTT. All they are interested is killing and making money and gathering fame for themselves.
