68kg of heroin, 50kg of ‘Ice’ seized from Galle sea

A haul of drugs containing 68kg of heroin and 50kg of Crystal Methamphetamine (‘Ice’) have been seized from Galle sea, says the Navy Spokesperson.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB).

Stunned by the vast amount of illegal drugs trafficked into the country.
Media reported drug busts may be just the tip of a very large iceberg.
As we know, drug addiction is rising within the country, and even school children are being targeted, which is a recipe for disaster. Even with rehabilitation resources, heroin addicts rarely break the addiction cycle. So, PREVENTION is better than cure.
Therefore, rather than focusing on the UN, its requirements and the international mandates, perhaps it’s time to address our serious domestic issues before we reach a point of no return…
Doesn’t say about any arrests, but only that these venomous drugs were seized. Does this mean the culprits (sub-humans) jumped overboard when the Navy was approaching and drowned and that either alive or dead they became a feast for the sharks? I sincerely hope so!
