Selection of new leader took place in a decent way. UNP should follow this rules
Only ONE Central Committee member to represent the entire minority group. Fantastic democratic representation!
Anura Kumara will have to get a few bearded masks and several purdahs to canvass for votes in the Northern & Eastern provinces.
However YOU are far ahead than your predecessor and most suitable to be the leader.
No problems with this selections.
It does not matter where you come from; what matters is what you are and what you are capable of.
What we require is meritocracy; selections should not be based on where your grandfather came from.
Best wishes to Anura K; we do need new and capable blood to rejuvenate our systems.
Public has no faith in JVP politics as it is oriented towards Communist theories long-since discarded by China and Russia. JVP is also devious and corrupt. I prefer WW’s NFF, who are assiduously patriotic.
It is true Nicholas,
I also don’t like their revolution and socialism. But I don’t agree with that they are corrupt.
If JVP follows democracy , I will vote for them.
But still everyone has to appreciate their party discipline in selecting the leader.
Best wishes to Aura Kumara and team. The democratic leadership change and infusion of new blood in the fabric of JVP is admirable.
Recommend you guys now focus on restoring your status within Sri Lanka’s body politic as a force to be reckoned.
