Appeals Court orders to acquit Gotabaya and others from Avant-Garde case

Appeal Court orders Colombo Magistrate’s Court to acquit Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and others from the Avant Garde Case filed by the Bribery Commission.
Earlier today the Court of Appeal had also allowed the revision application filed by former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Avant-Garde floating armoury case, setting aside the order of the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

You are a typical ungrateful Sri Lankan (if you are Srilankan). You anti Rajapakse people have made all these allegations along with the worthless due ( Yahaplanaya) about the billions that the Rajapaksa’s stole before the last Presidential election and for the last 5 years.They could not or did not send any one of the Rajapakse’s to prison so far. So what does this tell us. Or do I have spell it out to you. Why don’t you guys change your tune for a change.

The elevation of Mr G Rajapaksa to the presidency is likely to have a damaging impact on social stability… With a rise in Sinhalese nationalism, there is likely to be a further increase in anti-minority sentiment across the country… Combined with the weakening of press freedoms and civil liberties that we would expect under a G Rajapaksa presidency, this is likely to be detrimental to long-term political stability. As a result, the country’s economic prospects look set to darken.
