Those who take up the sword will die by the sword.
Dear Nicholas, think before you comment, Sri lankan flag also has a lion carrying the sword.

you are right jayraj, but things would happen as nicolas said.that is sri lankas destiny, who can change it.
the best thing is to carry is a toy instead of sword (flag)
He deserved it and what more.
I quoted the Gospel. SL is truly heading in the right direction under a great leader, our Hon President, having utterly defeated the evil LTTE, never to rise again. Those who try to resurrect the evil LTTE will succumb to the same fate. They will be wiped out and chucked in hell.
US is heading into ‘fiscal cliff’ and economic disaster, like EU countries. Damn good for the evil imperial colonialists! Let us hope we will be able to survive the repercussion of their depression with Chinese and Russian aid. Let us grow our own food at least in every house with a garden.
Your correct Nicholas, every house with a garden to grow our vegetables. It should be a must in Sri Lanka, every new house built must have solar cells on the roof. This law should be passed immediately.Doesn’t matter whether it is Chinese or Russian money, it is for the good.
Thank you Jeyaraj for approving my idea of self-sufficiency in food, at least fruit, veg, manioc, sweet potatoes etc so that we do not have to import from India at exorbitant rates and deplete our foreign reserves.
If the ‘fiscal cliff’ issue is not resolved before the de3adline by the Republicans and Democrats of USA, the repercussions of recession, inflation etc will not only hit US citizens but also the global economy. We have to brace up to it in our little island.
Green energy for us is very important so that we do not depend on fossil fuels of Middle East, controlled by the imperial West. Hence solar energy, wind farms, hydroelectricity is the right direction for us as alternative energy resources. Nuclear energy is out of the question as uranium is not a natural resource for us. I hope our leaders will wisely develop the country in the right direction.
Self sufficiency in food was a long cherished dream of our founding fathers (DS Senanayaka, Dudley Senanayake, SWRD Bandaranaike, DA Rajapaksa) but remains an elusive dream.
The Divi Neguma Bill seeks to improve the lot of the peasant and should see a revival of domestic self sufficiency concept (A Gandhian Ideal).
The Rajapaksa leadership is intent on reviving the valid dreams of our forefathers. In 2013, with the advent of the Divi Neguma Bill, we should as a nation, make vast strides in growth at grassroots level.
Disagree with Nicholas on the “Fiscal Cliff” issue. Our trade and development is closely aligned to the Chinese who command the richest and most stable economy in the world. This Inperialist “Cliff” shouldn’t impact us at all. If the Americans are haggling over stolen wealth (stolen from the land they occupy, wealth stolen through intimidation from other countries; wealth appropriated through war and terrorism), so be it; we shouldn’t worry about thieves haggling on how to divide the loot.
