Britain welcomes panel report
While welcoming the Panel of Experts report of the UN Chief on Sri Lanka, the British government yesterday called on Sri Lanka to use its response to the UN report and the report’s recommendations to strengthen the process of accountability.
The Foreign Office statement also said that “the UK has consistently called for an independent and credible investigation to address these allegations which is why we fully supported the decision of the Secretary-General to establish the Panel of Experts.”
“The report sets out the importance of a genuine and independent investigation, so that allegations of abuses are seen to have been addressed. We encourage Sri Lanka to use its response to the UN report and the report’s recommendations to strengthen the process of accountability and support lasting peace and security.”
It also stated “the serious nature of the allegations in the report underline that these allegations, and the issue of accountability for them, must be resolved before lasting reconciliation can be achieved in Sri Lanka.”

The British are dreamers. GOSL’s response to the UNSG Panel Report is biggest ever May Day Rally headed by the NFF to throw mud at the UNSG, the UNO, the UNSG Panellists, UN organs and its heads such as the UNHRC and at the rest of the world who are not supportive of human values.
The approach after the ruthless suppression of the tamil nationalist uprising has been
“kill, eliminate, incarcerate or get rid of all those who stand in our path”,
“grab as much wealth as you can from the public purse and external sources such as remnant LTT funds and create white elephants such as harbours, airports, roads and cricket fields”,
“care two hoots about the welfare of the public in the south”,
“the tamil civilians in the north and east are the subjects of the vicious military and para-miltary cadres in those areas”,
“pull wool over the eyes of the nations of the land with falsified grandiose economic indicators and recincilliation initiatives”.
This is in essence the chinthanaya principles of the rulers.

Mr Pillayan,
You are welcome to visit me in my 2.5 acre farm in the Bongama area in Kalawewa. The nearest train station is Galgamuwa.
Does J. Siri. want to make Pillai as a broiler chicken in his farm….
Some buisness men are not happy of MR but are they happy abt privious leaders who let increase killings here in SL since 80’s…?
Ending that miserable decade is enough to respect this president for now.!
US welcomed evil act against SL with a tornado attack killing 100s in southern US…!
Julian Siriwardenam,
You might have lost your income by secretely passing weapons to blood thirsty terrorists during the war under the cover of a Sinhala name. This loss of blood money is the main reason for your anger against the government who eliminated terrorism in the country, and now you think what ever you say are the right ones and what ever the government did was wrong. Surprising isn’t it? You got to be joking. If you are sooo right, then why didn’t you prove it and become popular and then become president of Sri Lanka rather than muddling with your tiny 2.5 acre farm , only preaching to cows in a far away think jungle?
Best thing you can do now is to fly a kite near Kala wewa because people think that you have lost your mind.
US & UK… better you welcome a Tsunami, than welcome evil acts..!!!
Dear Manjula,
I will not challenge your assumptions; you are entitled to them.
If I had been willing to prostitute my intellect, I would probably have been GOSL’s External Affairs Minister (like Hon GLP) or the SL Permanent Representative in the UN (like Mr PK) or the Resisdent Representative to the UNESCO cum Ambassador to France (like Mr DJ) or the Ambasador in Washington (like Mr JW).
I am sorry I cannot seek popularity as suggested by you; my intellect is more important to humanity.
I love the life I lead in the Bongama village and you are welcome to visit anytime you wish. We can go fishing in the Bongama Wewa.
