Good on you, Hon Amaraweera, the dreamer.
Loss in 2019 is LKR 80 billion and total debt LKR 800billion.
And you are dreaming of 70% eco-friendly power supply.
My Dear Mr Amaraweera, eco-friendly power is 3 times the cost of junk-charcoal and hydro power.
So next year, with eco-friendly power, CEB losses will be LKR 240 billion per year.
Only way Mr Amaraweera, is to increase the Tariff by 3 times to settle current debt and by 12 times to provide so-called eco-friendly power.
Power generation, Hon Amaraweera, is big business, big money and big komis to all. If you crack down on corruption (while saving yourself from white vans), you can eradicate losses in less than a year.
Looks like another superb Boundary by the ex-Yahapalanaya (“Righteous Governance” LOL!) regime that all but bled our nation to death over the past 5 years! Sure, there will be all kinds of excuses given, but excuses are not what we want from a government that we elect, but results! Of course, the height of corruption and rackets to do with this state owned CEB under this Yahapalanaya jokers will be legendary – because not only they let CEB run into this type of huge loss, but power cuts were both frequent and long, to the point that they severely affected many aspects of the nation’s economy, including critical Tourism. Phew, how fortunate for Motherlanka that those crooks are no more in the seats of power to do more harm!
oh Dear the burden we public will have to pay what nice politicians we have in this Banana Republic.
