Chinthaka’s mother wants Govt. to meet son’s funeral cost
The mother of the deceased underworld kingpin, Chintaka Wasantha, alias Ketayam Chinthaka, who died during a confrontation with the officers of the Special Task Force (STF), had requested the government to meet the costs of her son’s funeral.
Hewapennage Malani (Chinthaka’s mother), had made the request consequent to the post-mortem examination being carried out on the deceased, at the Kamburupitiya Base Hospital, yesterday.
Firecrackers exploded around the Walasmulla area in Kamburupitiya on Tuesday (3) as the residents of the area celebrated the death of the underworld kingpin.
Meanwhile, an unidentified group of people had set fire to Malini’s house early last morning. However, no casualties had been reported following the incident, sources from the Kamburupitiya Police said.
