A humble man who produced a fearless leader in his son who finally relieved the Sinhala Buddhist population of the Sinhala Buddhist Republic of Sri Lanka, of its fears and sufferings endured over a 30 year period.
May the son have the vision to return all landholdings within the Sinhala Buddhist Republic of Sri Lanka to its rightful owners, the Sinhala Buddhist peasantry.
Being able to see three generations of the Rajapaksa clan in one photograph brings to my mind the enormity of the services renderered by the to our emerald isle which houses the Sinhala Buddhist Republic of Sri Lanka.
I am astounded; may the triple gem bless the Rajapaksa clan.
All credit to Hon D A Rajapaksa for having produced four illustrious sons to serve Mother Lanka as Statesmen who are true patriots, and not mere politicians. There are many two-bit politicians some of whom are traitors, and use their resources for vested interests. You find them mostly in JVP, UNP, TNA and other minority parties. A few have infiltrated the UPFA. They are shameless traitors. They should be hung and quartered.
I fear for Hon President’s life all the time and pray that he may live long to serve Mother Lanka for many more years. I cannot understand why he stoops low to visit UK to address Oxford University Students Union at their invitation. He is the great President of our country. At no time have other Presidents of great countires such as China and Russia visited UK to address stupid Oxford University Students Union. Our Hon President must preserve his stature and decline this invitation. I fear for his life. I fear that LTTE diaspora may use the opportunity to plot his assassination through a suicide mission. There are hired assassins from Mafia gangs in UK such as Somalian and Albanian gangs who are powerful. Our great beloved son of Mother Lanka, Very Rev Soma Hamuduruwo was assassinated by extremist US Christian missions in SL by inviting him to Russia, purpotedly to honour him for a book he had written. But he was assassinated by the Russian mafia on contract. They killed him by forcing him to breathe cyanide gas which induced a heart attack. Then when he was dead they took him to hospital for a false heart operation to cover-up the assassination. Unfortunately, nothing could be proven because he was cremated.
I fear in the same way, for the life of our beloved President. Please heed my words and do not stoop low to visit UK to address the stupid Oxford University Students Union. Britain is our enemy. We should always bear in mind this though we maintain diplomatic relations.
been a tamil person.behalf of entire tamil i also like to thanks to hon.d a rajapaksa for having produced son to serve our srilanka from bloody terrorism, god bless you and srilanka.
Dear Pillayan,
Thank you for acknowledging and appreciating that our dear President is an honourable man unlike the other 2-bit politicians in SL, some within the UPFA itself. It is Hon President who saved more than 300,000 Tamil hostages from the fascist, evil dictator VP and also freed all the Tamils in SL from the scourge of LTTE, as they are all Sri Lankans contributing to make SL a great country, a homeland for all for generations to come. I feel sorry for the innocent Tamil children who were conscripted to his rag-tag LTTE ‘army’ to meet an early grave, in trying to realize this brute’s pipe-dream.
Only in SL we have free education from primary school to university. Today’s university students have become pawns in the hands of ruthless JVP and UNP to create unrest in the country in order to try to topple the government. Fat chance! In Britain the cost of university education, fees alone per year is £9000-12000. In another 2-3 years the British and American Universities will set-up branches in SL for their students to study cheaper. These universities offer quality education and degrees. Not mickey mouse degrees. Our students will also have opportunity to study in these universities than to go to UK or USA or Australia for a quality university education. Hon S B Dissanayake will have to first end the blight of stupid ‘ragging’ which is not found in universities of the West, not even in Indian universities.
Our children will then have a bright future to make their mark in creativity to make SL a rich country. To hell with anarchist JVP and communist parties that will be the bain of SL!
Bravo pillayan and also thanka a lot mr.Nicholas you are a good person who loves our motherland
A silent prayer for those who perished on the shores of the Nanthi Kadal Lagoon in May 09 in the merciless onslaught of a genocidal army.
May the Good Lord grant eternal peace and joy in union with God, our Father and Mother, to all those who died in the final epic battle on the shores of Nanthi Kadal. Our boys sacrificed their young lives to free the SL Tamil hostages from the evil fascist rute VP’s clutches, who used his own Tamil civilians as a human shield so shamelessly to protect himself and his family. To his last breath VP brutally sent his cadres to their death, to protect him and his family. The LTTE cadres were mere children who were conscripted to his rag-tag ‘army’. We cannot blame them but feel sorry for them and their parents. They were conscripted and brainwashed aganst the Sinhalese with disinformation and racial hatred.
Demala Chelvan is unfortunately still vomitting out this same drivel about eelam. Isn’t it time you came to your senses like our good brother, Pillayan. Genocide was committed by none other than VP on a massive scale against the Sinhalese as well as Muslims. Don’t serve the petty interests of Tamil extremist nationalist politicians. That will get them no where except more death and destruction to the Tamil civilians mostly, and the blighting of their young lives. Ditch the eelam and raise the standard of ONE NATION ONE COUNTRY, HOMELAND FOR ALL.
Dear Nicholas,
Thank you for admission of systematic, consistent efforts to eliminate the Tamil race from their island home.
DC as usual has got his vetti in a twist and try to twist my words. He is just a blinkered Tamil extremist nationalist. He is one-track minded so he is unable to see that SL is homeland for all our peoples, the Sri Lankans, but not for kallathonis, who still keep entering our shores in the guise of fishermen.
I never said a ‘systematic, consistent effort to eliminate the Tamil race’. These are DC’s own words and interpretation. Being prejudiced he sees everything red through his red glasses. When is he going to remove his red glasses and see clearly? If DC remains a Tamil extremist nationalist he will remain a fanatic and will never see clearly or reason intelligently. DC will never be able to accept the truth. Along with TNA and other Tamil extremists, he will to his dying day vomit this tripe about a Tamil genocide which never took place. The large scale genocide was committed by none other than VP the blood thirsty brute against the Sinhalese and Muslims, who lived for generations in the North and in the East. SL is one country, so any SL citizen can go and settle down anywhere in the island. We cannot allow extremist Tamil nationalists to demarcate provinces to say, this is for Tamils only, and insist on autonomy for themselves. We will never allow this. If the Tamil nationalists try this again they will be decimated again to prevent Tamil nationalism. This is not genocide. We have a right to protect our country from Tamil nationalism of a few die hards. The majority Tamils reject Tamil nationalism and insist they are Sri Lankans. They totally reject the concept of a Tamil eelam. Let DC and fellow travellers of extremist Tamil nationalism, and Tamil kallathonis, take their battle for Tamil nationalism and autonomy to Tamil Nadu. They can join Nediyavan and Vaiko to seek autonomy from India.
Dear Mr Nicholas,
Thank you for supporting me further. The following are standout quotes:
“We have a right to protect our country from Tamil nationalism of a few die hards”
Well Mr Nicholas, if you do have the right, we have a right too.
“The majority Tamils reject Tamil nationalism and insist they are Sri Lankans. They totally reject the concept of a Tamil eelam.”
Mr Dias, would like to have proof of this statement. This is an assumption and not a fact.
DC has once again twisted and distorted my words. This is a typical diaspora Tamil eelamist tactic. I do not support him at all.
As for evidence that majority Tamils in SL do not support narrow Tamil nationalism, the best example is the huge mass exodus of Tamil hostages, the Tamil civilian human shield, the fascist brute VP surrounded himself with in his final hours, shaking like a leaf in fear, the big coward. The Tamil hostages said with their feet, whose side they are on. Given the least opportunity, they shook-off the Tamil LTTE cadres, and in the face of the bomb explosions of suicide cadres who rushed to stop the mass exodus, the Tamil hostages broke free from the LTTE cadres who held them captive denying them food and water, to rush across Nanthi Kadal, free at last, to the warm welcome of the SL Liberating Forces, the heroic Sinhala army of Mahinda Rajapaksa. If they wanted Tamil eelam, surely the 300,000 plus hostages would have stayed with VP to die to the last man. But they did not. They rejected him and cursed him, and rightly so.
Then there is the evidence of Tamil civilans who rushed to live down South with the Sinhaese and the Muslims who received them warmly, in the height of LTTE atrocities against its own people, by conscripting Tamil children to his rag-tag ‘army’ and taxing them sky-high for even basic necessities. They breathed free in the South to bring-up their children without fear of being conscripted by the brute VP. They and their children had a future with us Sinhalese in the South. During General Elections they voted for the UPFA.
There is more evidence that majority Tamils have rejected Tamil eelam and the dirty politics of TNA who will soon be reduced to a meaningless rump like the JVP today. But it takes too much time and space to detail it all.
Incidentally, you have not answered my question yet I put to you previously, why you have not condemned the caste discrimination of the Tamil man in Canada who tried to kill his own daughter for associating with a ‘low-caste’ Tamil. Don’t you think you have to put your own house in order first by ridding the Tamils of caste discrimination within its own Tamil community? Imagine a father trying to kill his own daughter for such a silly thing as going out with a so-called ‘low caste’ Tamil. It shows how strong caste discrimination is within the Tamil community itself. How can DC talk about alleged race discrimination by Sinhalese when the worst culprits are radical Tamils themselves in their own community by caste discrimination. Shame on you!
DC, Tamil nationalism has no place in SL. If they took up arms we will put it down again and again. Radical Tamil nationalists have no right to take up arms. You can express your views but not take up arms. There are millions of Tamils in SL who want to live peacefully with the other communities. They do not want themselves and their children to be unwitting pawns of radical Tamil nationalist politicans who are trying to lead them up the garden path to realise their own petty ambitions.
Eelam is no more. Eelam is setthapochchi. Dead and buried for good. Cremated with VP and the ashes fed to the fish who died from C4 poisoning.
Dear Nicholas,
The person in Canada referred to is alleged to have committed a crime and is being dealt with in accordance with the laws of that Land.
If he is found guilty he will be be punsihed in accordance with the law.
Unlike in Sri Lanka, the judicial framework in Canada is well established and efficient. If the person is found guilty and sentenced, that will be a deterrent to other members of society in Canada.
Why not demonstrate to the World the validity of the Sinhala viewpoint “The majority Tamils reject Tamil nationalism and insist they are Sri Lankans. They totally reject the concept of a Tamil eelam.” by inviting the UN to conduct a referndum on this matter.
The Tamils have a right to live and be protected. Successive Sinhala Governments have failed to deliver the protection and hence, do the tamils have a right to proviude their own protection.
The act of a sinhala neighbour safeguarding tamils from marauding sinhala nationalists is not an act of protection. In fact, we do not want that kind of protection. We need protection by the socio-administrative infrastructure.
The criminal act of the ‘high-caste’ Tamil refugee in Canada in trying to kill his own daughter for romancing a ‘low-caste’ Tamil is symptomatic of the very serious problem Tamils in SL and world over have of caste discrimination in their community. DC has not answered this point. Unless the Tamils address this serious problem of caste discrimination in their community they cannot talk about alleged racial discrimination in SL or in any other country they have migrated to. DC is being utterly dishonest in his response to this question. He has evaded the point I made in my response number 11 also, that vast majority of ordinary Tamils do not want autonomy of a dubious Tamil eelam. They quite rightly said they have suffered enough under the military adventurism of the fascist brute and war criminal, VP, for 30 long years. Generations of their innocent Tamil children were robbed of their lives to try to realize a pipe-dream of the fascist brute, VP. He also tried to set-up a ‘civil administration’ of sorts in the LTTE controlled area. It was a miserable failure. The LTTE executed rough justice. It was injustice they executed. How can a war criminal and a murderer whose hands were red with the blood of the hundreds of Tamil intellectuals, businessmen and politicains he had killed because they opposed his Tamil eelam concept, set-up a civil adminstration and law courts to mete out justice? Come-off it DC, you are talking through your hat. Go and get some education first to think logically and rationally first, instead of vomitting this tripe. I am actually wasting my time answering you stupid nonsense.
Dear Nicholas,
I do agree that the Tamil community has its problems. So does every other community in the world.
The end of your comment above signals a loser. C’mon, Nicholas, face up to it.
By the way, as a “know all”, you haven’t answered my questions:
Why wasn’t VP death announced in the victory speech in Parliament?
Why was the announcement left to the hero turned traitor?
Why was RG not accompanied by any Congress officials in his last campaign walk?
Whu hasn’t a death certificate been issued to certfy VP’s death?
We live in an age of lies and treachery, my dear Nicholas. We need to preserve our sanity to survive this psychological genocide not only aimed at one community but at all.
So Mr Nicholas, accept your weaknessess and admire your strengths so that we can come to terms with the past and craft a path for the future.
Mr Chelavn’s questions are indeed, valid questions. I suspect the person named VP ceased to exist or went out of circulation many many years ago. A carefully built alias was displayed to keep the organisation intact. The final assault in May 09 was for locating this person. He was not found and the story of his demise was invented for public consumption.
vp kiyanne temil wargaya nethi karanna upan kenek. vp wediyennma meruwe temil kollo kello, podilamai. vp hari nam tamange lamai ratayawanne nethiwa lankawe ugannanawa. singhala aya ekka wairayen hitiye praba missa wennakisiwaku neme.
GD-G claims that VP had actually died ages ago and that it was a look-alike that stood in his place as a stooge. This is totally untrue and mere speculation of some foolish people. There is no supporting evidence. On the otherhand there is a mass of evidence that the VP who died in the final War of Liberation is none other than the real VP. The best evidence is that of Karuna and Pillayan. However, when he died he was immediately cremated after identification by Karuna and other prominent LTTE men who worked closely with him, and also by KP who was in telephone contact to the last minute. No body parts were retained for genetic analysis as it was unnecessary and because we do not want these body parts to be stolen by the diaspora LTTE and the cult following. He is seththa pochchi and remains so very much. Good riddance of a war criminal and an evil man comparable with Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin and Saddam Hussein.
DC reluctantly agrees that ‘Tamils have problems’. We are not talking of mere ‘problems’. We are talking about serious issue of discrimination by one group of Tamils, who call themselves ‘high caste’, towards another group of Tamils they refer to as ‘low caste’. This is serious discrimination prevalent within the Tamil society. Because of this discrimination the so-called ‘low caste’ Tamils are denied equal opportunities with ‘high caste’ Tamils, wherever in the world they live. This discrimination affects them in the job front as well as marriage, education opportunities, health etc. The ‘low caste’ Tamils’ rights are trampled upon by the ‘high caste’. Such Tamils prefer to live with the Sinhalese in the South because they are not discriminated by the Sinhalese who treat them equally.
One of the reasons Karuna and Pillayan split from VP is because they are so-called ‘low caste’ who hail from Baticaloa. Further, Karuna accused VP of sending mostly the Baticaloa Tamils to the war front to die for VP because they were so-called ‘low caste’. Karuna also accused VP of giving prominence in his LTTE organisation to ‘high caste’ Jaffna Tamils as VP considered himself ‘high caste’ Vellala Tamil.
DC’s other queries are mere hair-splitting which do not deserve an anwer at all as they are so ridiculous.
Dear Nicholas,
As said earlier, we live in an age of lies and treachery. In addition, you are living in ignorance.
George D-G has written a likely scenario.
VP was from Valvettithurai; he came from the “fisherfolks” caste. The “Vellala” caste in the North never really endorsed his actions and/or leadership. The “Vellala” were passive observers of what took place. A vast majority found the situation not to their liking; hence they went overseas in droves.
Karuna and Pillayan come from a “Low” caste as well. Karuna was a strong and “brilliant” warrior. But he had many weaknessess (as we all do) including the love of money and power. This went against the “code of conduct” of the movement. As the noose tightened, he took the easy way out and that is to defect. After that, he wanted to be a “war-lord” in the East; did not succeed and so he joined the bandwagon of you know who. Pillayan was the underling and he happened to be in the right place at the right time. I believe both have not “reformed” and never will do so; to rely of them is courting disaster.
KP is a turncoat; he never had a position in the movement. In the desperate last days, he was given a role because of his location overseas. He did not participate in the movement since late 80’s until the last days.
So Nicholas, if you rely on the rubbish being doled out regarding the last days, you are not worthy of your intellect. There are many who are interested in hiding the truth and hence the mud slinging at HRW and others.
The war was fought for two primary reasons.
1. The arms purchasing created a whole new breed of rich on commissions earned
2. An everlasting political plus established amongst the Southerners by crushing the “enemy” – the tamils.
