Former President Maithripala Sirisena to contest general election from Polonnaruwa

Former President Maithripala Sirisena is set to re-enter active politics through the upcoming general election. SLFP media spokesperson Weerakumara Dissanayake noted that the 1 term president will return to his constituency of Polonnaruwa to seek re-election at the upcoming general election.
Dissanayake noted that the SLFP has commenced it’s election organizing activities already and added that discussions on forming a broad alliance together with the SLPP and other constituent parties.
He added that the SLFP would function in accordance with the two agreements signed prior to the Presidential election, one with the SLFP and one with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, adding that they would not bow down to external pressure.

He was a Commander in Chief, the Defense Minister and it’s pathetic to see how this misfit appears to go not only scott free of any accountability for that disaster, but how he was given a handsome handshake reward by the equally incompetent Ponil’s and his sidekicks!
Dear brother Ranjith you are contradicting the statement of Robert Knox. He clearly stated that Sinhala Farmer is even suitable for become a king after washing the mud. Now you say this back boneless hopeless good for nothing ‘pambaya’ to become a ‘Goviya’ or farmer. Remember this guy was asked to run for the presidency against MR by Chandrika (satellite) because they all knew he is a real ‘pambaya’ and they can do any damn thing (to change the constitution, pass resolutions, curtail executive presidential power, etc.). I do not think even the voters in Polonaruwa prefer him.

Why should the blame for Easter 2019 incident be placed on our most patriotic brothers, MR & GR?
They are top patriots our Nation has had for over 70 years.
In fact, the Yahapalana messy-fellows, including the Moda-Dasa and his comrades will soon be taught a lesson at the Parliamentary Elections where Ponil and Modadasa-led UNP faction will gain only less than 5 seats.
This will give Constitutional Power to the R Family Clan to rule the Nation for the rest of the century.
If someone blame MR and GR for Easter massacre it shows the inefficiency of Ponil & Sira Government supported by Muslim parties, TNA and JVP. Again, those who were involved in that regime should not ask voters of Sri Lanka to send them again to Diyawannawa. With power, credible intelligence supplied by India Ponil et al couldn’t save those innocent victims and stop the terrorists. Please refrain from blaming others!
How can president ( I mean even a puppet precedent like this pabaya ) come back as a MP. It is like a bank manager coming as a cleaner in the same bank. This is the only country in the world this type of things happens.
