Govt. plans to build three state-of-the-art hospitals
Government plans to build three hospitals similar to the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.
Speaking at an event at the BMICH Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senaratne, who has just recovered from a heart surgery at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, said the government hopes to acquire financial assistance from Russia, Australia and Germany to build the three large scale hospitals.
Minister Senaratne said the government plans to obtain the assistance of Teamsek Foundation in Singapore to train the staff for the three hospitals and further develop the healthcare services in the country.
The 345-bed Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore has been serving Asia Pacific for over 30 years as a leading medical hub treating patients from all over the region.

This is a very good move because then Sri Lankans do not have to go to Singapore for treatment.
Ok so far we are getting a Car manufacturing plant, mega poles (a big city) or what ever . million jobs and now not one (now listen to this) three mega state of the art hospitals.
Or not only that a health care center as well. Otherwise a paradise.
Me, no comment
The Minister for Health failed to demonstrate confidence in the health services under his care. He opted to proceed to Singapore for his cardiac procedure. By the way, did the taxpayer who pays his salary and other benefits, foot the bill for his medical care in Singapore? There are 100’s of cardiac procedures being performed in SL but the Hon Minister who belongs to the ruling classes had to be air-freighted to Singapore to be attended by a SL Doctor working there. What a shame !
What’s the point in building the three Mt Elizabeth Hospitals in SL? Most likely, patients will need a letter from the Hon Minister to gain admission!
Mr Amarakoon are you stupid or something?
at least patients will not go through the trauma of being put to death under hospital bed for want of being treated
Dear Ranjith, You stated ‘Mr Amarakoon are you stupid or something?’. It is not my nature to get into personal level and attack people. I understand the tepidness in your response. But with all due respect could please explain to me what you mean by ‘something’? Then, I can say ‘something’ to you.
Well Mr Amarakoon. The building of this hospital will never happens. But I will give you the benefit of the dought and see what happens.
First it is going to be built with foreign money. We cannot let ( memorize the book and pass the exam) stupid sri lanken engineers to build it. Half money will disappear due to fraud and steeling and half will be stolen.
So we have to get a Chinese engineer to do that.
After that we cannot give our medicine men (so called doctors )to run it. It will be like building a Lamborghini body and fixing a tuk tuk (there wheeler) engine to power it.
Rajitha did the right thing. He went to Singapore. He new that if you go to our medicine men with a heart problem they will operate hid kidneys rather than the heart.
So still you have to abroad to get a decent treatment.
Now you know
These MEGA hospitals will have PEANUT bills?
Finally this same MOUTH will use to say, these hospitals are not belong to SRILANKANS. LOL
Dear Mr Amarakoon. Sir How many Sri Lankans go to Singapore for treatment because this type of hospitals are not available in Sri Lanka at the moment. Do you go to Singapore for treatment because you won’t trust our well qualified doctors or the magnificent state of our hospitals, again maintain by our super efficient (highly qualified) staff.
Mr. Ranjith Please read between the lines. This statement regarding opening three hospitals were made by Health Minister Rajitha who was recently treated in Singapore for a heart problem. I made this comment in a sarcastic manner to say that the Hon Minister can get the treatment here in SL. After materializing these three health facilities!! That was my intention and hope you are intellectually mature enough to understand it.
Ok Mr Amarakooon I got it. Sorry for misunderstanding. I feel very angry when some privilege people get all the facilities and the poor left even without the basic medical needs.
Good day.
