Bharatha Laksman Premachandra’s daughter Hirunika today vowed to take a ‘surprising decision’ soon as she had nothing to lose.
“I am Bharatha Lakshman’s only daughter and I will never betray my father. So I have to take a different and surprising decision soon and I know the people of Kolonnawa will support me,” a grieving Hirunika told reporters outside the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today.

May be she is going to ask MR to appoint her as the CJ when they have impeached the current one.
Hirunika, you are a disgrace for your family. Youre making use of your father’s tragic death for cheap popularity. Of course you can take upto politics, but for the benefit of Sri Lanka and not for family disputes.
Hirunika, Different and a surprising decision soon by you?
What you are going to get married to Duminda?
Or join UNP and go round the country denouncing
MR? You might as well jump off ‘the Lover’s Leap’
I am worried about all these three comments by Indra, Jayraj, and AUJ. You should be more decent in language.
Hirunika has a right to speak for justice after her father’s assassination. It is not attempting to gain popularity at the cost of death. Mrs.Sirimavo Bandaranaiyaka, Mrs.Chandrika, Mrs.Premadasa, Mrs.Srima Dissnayaka all did this. Many examples from the world politics !.
Hirunika is a lady. Use some decent language when you speak about her movement.
I agree with Basanayake i Blog 4. Hirunika has certainly inherited leadership traits from her now deceased, illustrious father, late Mr Premachandra.
This young lady has certainly demonstrated capacity of leadership and now she keeps us guessing about her journey.
I hope she doesn’t join deadwood in the UNP and other defunct, bankrupt leftist parties.
I will support her if she takes up leadership in a Sri lankan spring (like the Arab Spring)
C’mon Hirunika, give us some hope, little girl.
Well said, Chumpa. Hirunika has the potential to be the Obama of Sri Lanka, giving us hope and change.
I hope the energies from that potential are harnessed to benefit of our beloved land.
I am totally agree with Mr.Basnayaka, every individual respect self and others men or women and be an good ambassidor to the family & nation. As you all aware, currently our political structure, system and leaders all self motivated & thinking about “ME” and not “WE”, however we may think & act positively. It is just my thoughts only.
Mr Basanayaka, I made a comment and I have never used one indecent word in it. If you dont agree to my opinion, it is fine, that is your decision, but youre just accusing me for no reason.
Hirunika has a right to enter politics to serve the country to rid it of corrupt politics. Her decision is noble, following the evil death of her beloved father. It is not a matter of taking revenge but seeking justice and justice for all in similar position who are suffering as a result of corrupt politics on all sides.
people doesn’t belive the law , that will bring thrugh..but they belive politicians can not do only man convert to women
My comment was sarcastic on purpose. If she want to announce something genuine, there is no need to prepare the ground and keep people guessing, just go ahead and do it. In all likelyhood, what she is going to do is announce she is going to enter politics. It is maneuvering. I have no problem with her doing politics.
Dear Mr. BasnaYAKA,
My comments too sounds sarcastic and cynical prompted by her own saying of “so I have to take a different and surprising decision soon”
To take a different decision would mean she would join UNP as she is already in SLFP. AND QUITE CYNICALLY,WITH NO MALICE WHATSOEVER , I have suggested her getting married to Duminda. I have not used any bad language anywhere as you have accused me of.I too have high regards to her. I sincerely feel sorry now that she has thrown aside her books and further studies and tread a path of vengeance on her father’s murderers.
