UN chief Ban Ki-moon said that it is the right time for President Mahinda Rajapaksa to address the issues including rights violation in a speedy and judicious manner.
In an interview with PTI, Ban has said it is important to ensure that there is accountability and the process of addressing the rights violations is ‘very transparent.’
“In addressing all these issues, the human rights and humanitarian concerns, human lives should be given the first and foremost priority,” Ban said. The UN chief said he has been urging with the Sri Lankan leadership to take all necesary measures to ensure human rights are protected and promoted.

Hey Monkey,
Nobody is dying in SL now due to LTTE terrorism. Neither Tamil, Sihalese nor Mouslim. SL president’s brother-in-law is a Tamil and the current Head of SL deligation at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva is a Tamil woman.
Economy of SL is growing around 8% and when there is enough wealth to go around, even if there is any discrimination exists somewhere in SL now, it will disappear soon.
Do something useful with your pathetic life instead of coughing for the rich countries and their politicians bought by the Tamils living in those countries – who has no intention of returning home ever and serve it, but to whip up the racist hatered – and licking their shoes. You are pathetic. Why not ask your masters the situation in Afganisthan and the justification for more than 100,000 Iraqi deaths (and still dying about 100 a week) for finding non-existent WMDs?
If that is boring, What about continuing human birth defects due to American use of Agent Orange in Vietnam and depleted uranium in Iraq?
Joker Moona is at it again. He brought Darusman into the scene and got the report done in his first term to show the western world that he is tough guy. This made him win the second term. Now he is attempting to carve a position in world affairs in the long run. this is copying Kofi Annan.
Joker Moona has no idea of the achievements of the Sinhala Buddhist leadership in Sri Lanka. We adopted their definition of terrorism and we followed their policy of eliminating terrorism with force. Now they are crowing from the rooftops. The is neo-imperialism.
I hope rajapaksa Mahinda and rajapaksa Goatabhaya don’t give in to neo-imperialism. The Joker Moona is a Bucka Moona.
