This is a confusing message. Is Hon Karu Jayasooriya being offerred the position of CHIEF UNITING OFFICER OF THE (DIS) UNITED NATIONAL PARTY?
Of course, Hon KJ is not after that position. He is after the posts of LEADER OF THE UNITED NATIONAL PARTY, LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION AND THE UNP’S UNANIMOUS NOMINEE FOR THE POST OF PRESIDENT OF SRI LANKA AT THE FORTHCOMING PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS.
He is being supported in this quest by Hon Sajith Premadasa and Co.
In keeping with leadership traditions, Hon KJ is already in India seeking the blessings of renown Hindu Gods.
Assigning Karu to unite the party makes no sense. Another blunder! Conflicts within the party is a symptom. Treating symptoms is not professional at all. UNP has to find the problem and address it and not the symptoms! Problem is with the current leadership. Change Ranil and appoint an energetic leader (if UNP has one!)to rejuvenate the party.
