Majority being Sinhala Buddhists doesn’t mean rest are secondary citizens – Mangala
Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera says that the biggest threat to the country is not from global terrorism, but from a certain political group.
Speaking to the media following an event held in Colombo today (14) he said that every country in the world has faced global terrorism by now.
There were shortcomings as a government, yet, now we are ready to provide the necessary security to the whole country, said the Minister.
He said that those who attempt to take advantage of the situation have resorted to recreating a Black July.
Just because the majority in the country is Sinhala Buddhist, the rest do not become secondary citizens, said Samaraweera.
The Christians, the Muslims, and the Hindus are also Sri Lankans and all of them are first-class and equal citizens, he added.

Hon Mangala Samarawickrema and Hon Patali Champika Ranawaka are proving to be high calibre national leaders.
They do not fear to call a spade a spade.
While Mangala is not Presidential material, Champika Ranawaka is a promising leader of our motherland.
This is the BIGGEST terrorist in the COUNTRY.
He lead the down south thugs to other areas to create UNREST.
People must identify him as a terrorists, the way he speak and act provides clear indication of his acts.
ARREST HIM.
You dumb shut. No body says that any one is secondary. Most people want rules and laws that are common to all citizens of the country. For example no one is allowed to walk in to a bank with a helmet but the Muslim women can walk in with their faces closed with the ridicoules horse muzzle. Then there is the minimum age for marriage which the Muslims do not follow. And there is the issue of the number of mosques that keep popping up. We all know you are more worried about your votes. So shut your fowl nmouth.
Well said Mr Mangala! Good 2 see there are still unbiased & neutral people exist in sri lanka. I’m really amazed how people think them selves as nice innocent law abiding citizens & calling others thugs third grade citizens.. if muslims building mosques, aren’t Christian, Buddhist, Hindus building their churches, temples in sri lanka?? Why pin pointing only muslims?? Every community has the right to build & follow whatever religion they wants to. No one has the right to tell others what should they follow, what should they wear and what should they not!! Yes for the security reasons people should avoid covering their faces so that authorities can easily check.. In my humble request to all races please stop spreading hate & targeting specific community or religion. Every community does posses some black spots but it doesn’t mean that whole community is involved or support that act. Terrorism has no religion. Terrorist is a enemy of all. Sri Lanka already suffered a lot from some bad desicions in past so please don’t repeat those same mistakes again otherwise the loss is unimaginable for a whole country..
Cheers
Hon Mamgal Samaraweera your comment is twisted by Mano ganasan to state that Sri Lanka is not a Buddhist Country he should be kicked out of his cabinet Post
