Man injured in shooting at Ja-Ela

One person was critically wounded and hospitalised following a shooting at the Rukmani Devi junction in Ja-Ela this morning.
Police said the shooting took place at around 8.30am today and that the victim has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Ragama Hospital.
The Director of the hospital, Dr Mahinda Samaranayake, stated that the gunshot victim is currently in critical condition and that he is still undergoing treatment at the ICU.
It has been reported that the victim was on his way to deposit money at a bank in Ja-Ela on a motorcycle with his wife when he was shot at.
He has been identified as a 72-year-old who owns a soft drinks distribution company in Seeduwa.
