Maximum retail price for eggs

Sri Lanka’s Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has decided to set a maximum retail price for eggs.
A gazette notification has been issued with the signature of the Chairman of the CAA setting a maximum retail price for eggs.
Accordingly, a maximum retail price of a white egg has been set as Rs.43.00 and a brown egg price set as Rs.45.

A gazette notification for a price if a egg? Laughable. What next. Price for a onion or a carrot.
Laughable? Not really, may be only to your kind of simple-minded, uneducated brain. Eggs being an essential food item, like rice, potatoes, onions, dhal, etc. for example have come under price controls time and again historically, although I do not, under normal circumstances believe in socialist/communist ideal driven price controls. However, we are not right now living under normal circumstances, but facing a new kind of terrorism nationwide.
As such, for example, when the price of rice is controlled via gazette, technically you can say every grain of rice is price gazetted! All that aside, which might be too complex for your pea-brain, how is the toilet cleaning going on in white-man’s world?
