Waste of public money. Why doesn’t the UNHRC take up the cases of blatant violations of human rights by Israel against the Palestinians, USA-Brtain-France-Italy against Gaddafi and his majority supporters, the patriotic citizens of Libya? UNHRC is corrupt and a tool of the imperial West to knock small countries. They dare not take on China and Russia.
Dear Nicholas,
FYI
May 29 (ST) The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s Panel of Experts report on Sri Lanka will not come up for discussion when the UN’s Human Rights Council meets in Geneva tomorrow.
Beside, this session is not only for Sri Lanka, but for all member countries,
So, let say all together that’s;
“fucking jesus never be happy with us…!”
Container load of disinformation material giving distorted and false accounts of alleged human rights abuse by SL govt and its agents, destined for dissemmination in the West, was stopped recently by the SL customs from leaving and confiscated. This subversive material was printed by agents of diaspora LTTE, TNA and NGOs and INGOs. The NGOs and the INGOs should be charged with subversion, heavily fined, their assets seized and stopped from operating in SL.
The enemies of SL will not stop at false propaganda within SL and abroad. This is a facet of their new war against SL to bias the minds of other countries against SL, with a flood of disinformation. The diaspora LTTE has a special dept just for producing such disinformation and propagating it around the world through media and at political levels through lobying. Is SL geared to meet this challenge with its own special dept to study such disinformation and its dissemination around the world to counter it immediately? Otherwise, the diaspora LTTE will win the war of disseminating false propaganda, like the Nazi Goebbels during WW2.
If the 2 Hon Ministers are on a campaign to discredit such distortions of truth by the diaspora LTTE, at UNHRC conference in Geneva, by producing evidence of the factual situation of fast-track settling down in the North and East, in their own home towns, of IDPs and the LTTE hostages of 330000, the clearing of land mines planted in their hundreds of thousands by the LTTE terrorists, the reconstruction of war-torn towns with new roads, hospitals, schools and other infra-structure in the North and East, then such a PR exercise is well worth it.
Nicholas, all the “good” things that are happening the North and East, including mass socila economic colonisation, will not in any way help to defend the accusations contained in the Darusman report.
This is similar to a murderer saying “well, I killed Mr X but now i am looking after Mr X’s fatherless family!”.
If you commit a crime you must face upto the law and either be absolved of the crime or face the consequences.
Mr Mahinda S, on return from his previous visit to Geneva, lied about having successfully warded off the UNSG’s intention to appoint a panel of advisors. Hope he does not do it again.
