Not even SLFP can stop Rajapaksa becoming PM – NFF
The National Freedom Front (NFF) yesterday said the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) cannot halt its strategy, of fielding former President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Ministerial candidate, at the General Election, to defeat the United National Party (UNP).
The NFF led by Wimal Weerawansa along with the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) led by Dinesh Gunawardene, the Democratic Left Front (DLF) led by Vasudeva Nanayakkara and the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) led by Udaya Gammanpila, all parties affiliated to the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) will be holding their first rally in Nugegoda on Wednesday (18), to potentially bring in Rajapaksa as their Prime Ministerial candidate at the upcoming Parliamentary Election.
The NFF added that they had invited all UPFA members for the event. Elsewhere, SLFP General Secretary, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa said the SLFP Executive Committee had decided to refrain from attending the meeting.
NFF Politburo Member, Piyasiri said the grassroots level membership of the SLFP was behind the move spearheaded by the NFF, MEP, DLF and the PHU.
“We are all parties of the UPFA. We do not know whether Rajapaksa has said that he would not leave the SLFP. Yapa is stating this in order to protect his position as President Maithripala Sirisena is the Leader of the SLFP. General Secretary of the UPFA, Susil Premajayantha recently assured the media that they would back a return by Rajapaksa,” he observed.

The Joker of the century award goes to this guy
Mahinda Rajapaksa would be voted as the next Prime Minister only if he kicks out all the criminals who are around him. The people of Sri Lanka are willing to sacrifice for the country and not for benefits of the criminals around him.
Maaalu kellak kanna aasadha vimal.
The four mice Wimal, Dinesh,Gammanpila & DEW are without a vote base. They want to save their skins by trying to bell the big cat Rajapakse. I am sure he is a shroud tactician and would not fall into the trap laid by these jokers, especially Wimal and Gammanpila.
Wimal, gommanpila, Dinesh-Gu-No-Wardena all are political fugitives. Have no other option that bringing MR to power for them to survive. So no wonder Wimal is the spokeperson for this party. If Wimal’s tru colors also get revealed soon, he has no hope at all.
Why the hell MR gave up presidency to My3? MR has a big ego.. would he surrender without any base? C’mon.. we all know to what extent has corruption gone.. MR’s sons have many cases pending trail on them. murder claims, unnecessary usage of public vehicles, etc..Yoshita is a abandoned Navy commander who would face trail. So MR needs to protect his family at whatever cost.
Despite all, if MR comes to contest against Ranil, this time he wont get the votes of 58 laks voted for him. Now ppl know many kuddas, criminals, rapists got saved under MR and they’re not at easy and their children are at risk if these criminals run lose..
Think from your brains not anus.
You three crooks should be kicked out of the party.are you thinking of the money you will not be able go steal without Mr?
