Very good step towards the peace process,You have to give them a chance to recover from the past expirience with bloody ltte. But tell you one thing, the governmant should plan and tell all the tamil youth have to learn the singhala language. not the tamil language.Otherwise you can not intigrate them to our society.(Singhala language must compuls.)
The SLEEPER is at it again urging fallen tamil youth to learn an alien language. Statements such as this are the ones that lead to to the militant uprising of tamil nationalism.
As a Sinhala Buddhist nation, we should recognise tamil nationalism. We should let the tamils do what they wish to do. We should go that extra mile to find them a safe and secure home where they could pursue thier aspirations in peace.
The SLEEPERS and their ilk and the dynamite paddedd bra wearing lassies should be housed safely in an environment that is rich in their dynamite based culture. They belong to Tamil Nadu and we should package them with care to face the perils of the journey.
I think it is too early to recruite Tamils for the police service. I doubt that the recruitment may turn back to the Sri Lankan government.

Since the independence Tamil and Muslim youths were also recruited to the SL pOlice force and the defence forces. This is the right policy.
With the rise of terrorist LTTE, for 3 decades Tamil and Muslim youth were prevented by the LTTE from joining the police and defence forces. Instead, they were recruited to join the LTTE. Tamil youth in particular lived in fear of death, were they to join the SL police force, at the hands of LTTE. SL government did not try to prevent them from joining the police or defence forces. That would be discriminatory and against equality of opportunity. It is LTTE who opposed strongly, the Tamil youth in particular, from joing the police force and the defence services. The Muslims who joined were murdered on the orders of VP. Their families were also murdered as punishment. Such was the ruthless brutality of the psychopath VP!
It is more than a year now since we totally destroyed the LTTE on our shores. They will never be allowed to rise-up again in militancy. The real threat today is from militant JVP, who having lost over and over their desperate bid for power through the ballot box, are now secretly gearing-up for another militant uprising. The man who was supposed to lead their coup d’etat was SF, who is now languishing in jail for his foolhardiness in getting brainwashed by JVP anarchists.
It is just right and proper that youths of all communities in SL are given equal opportunity to join the defence forces including the police force. This would reinforce the truth that we are ONE NATION of many communities. The mistrust, suspicions and intolerance of extreme, fanatical Sinhala nationalists like Gura should be ignored. They are but a minority like the Tamil extremists represented by TNA. Let Gura go to Tamil Nadu and join Nedumaran and Vaiko and embrace Kanimozi to cry for Tamil nationalism in Tamil Nadu, and to absorb the hard core SL Tamil nationalists also to independent TN.
