Only PM Can Speak On Port City

The National Executive Committee has decided that only Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe can make statements on the controversial Colombo Port City project.
The decision was taken after Ministers Rajitha Senaratne and Lakshman Kiriella had made contradictory statements on the project recently. The National Executive Committee had taken the decision when they met last week.
At present a committee has been appointed to analyse the project and a decision will be taken after the cabinet received the committee report which is due within 45 days. The Government has said it will cancel the project if the committee recommends that the environment will be harmed if the project goes ahead.

The Colombo Port City is a waste of resources. It will only benefit the jet-set in Colmbo who can afford hoppers at Rs200 a piece. The traffic conjestion to reach this city will deter popular habitation of the city. Land and property prices will be close to Hong Kong.
We need mega cities and industrial estates in the NCP and in the North and East. The Grameeya bank loan initiative targetting women and families that has been succesful in the Hambantota district should be extended to the entire country.
Port City is a waste.. tru dat.. However, a started construction with the involvement of big parliamentarians of China cannot be stopped just cuz the PM or president wants.
The former talks would’ve been reconsidered due to the pressure from China as well. .. And who gave so much power to China? Errrr..
