President Rajapaksa graces the Fox Hill Motor Cross Rally in Diyathalawa

President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa graced the Fox Hill Super Motor Cross Rally-2010 in Diyathalawa, successfully organised by the Sri Lanka Military Academy of the Sri Lanka Army and the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Driver and Riders. The President, First Lady, Army Commander Major General Jagath Jayasooriya and Mrs Jayasooriya participated at the occasion as special guests and joined the crowds at the VIP Pavilion at Fox Hill Racing Grounds.
The Sri Lanka Association of Racing Driver and Riders works hand in hand with the Sri Lanka Army to ensure a successful rally every year. The Fox Hill track built to international standards nestles amidst a vast pine plantation on a mountain terrain. It is the fastest, unique and the greatest in the island with a track distance of two kilometers. It provides a view of ninety percent of action to the spectators.
18th annual Fox Hill Motor Cross was held at 16th and 17th of April with the participation of Sri Lanka’s highest ranked professional drivers and riders. It has earned the reputation of the most thrilling, biggest racing event in Sri Lanka. There were 13 motor car events and 17 motorcycle races held to generate funds for the infrastructure necessary for the Sri Lanka Military Academy. The funds utilise to uplift the standards of the institution. Hence, this spectacular event is not just a sports event but a fundraiser for the training of military officers, committed to safeguard the sovereignty of the motherland and democratic institutions.
