What else, He will say, decided to continue with the unity government
Dear Citizens,
I made a terrible decision to become a Common Canditate and slit the throat of an illustrious leader after a meal of hoppers. I was manipulated into that position by a couple of political losers who were breathing stupidity into the lungs of our nation.
In the last 3 years, I have realised that I am not fit to be a leader; I do not have the background or even common intelligence to adorn that chair.
I grabbed leadership of a political party from its elected leaders. having grabbed the party, I relied on several derelicts to build a false power base. None of this manipulations have worked.
In the big chair, I relied on advisers who had their own agenda of seeking revenge on legitimate leaders of other political parties.
Following the bashing in the recent poll, I have now realised that I am not capable of being a leader; I neither have basic intelligence nor a common touch to relate to the body politic.
I hang my head in shame; I apologise to the country for having caused severe trials and tribulations.
I depart from the chair and head to where I belong.
Well said Paul Samaraweera . I agree with you.
Dear Citizens,
I wish to continue with the 100% accurate speech posted by Paul Samaraweera.
When I became the Common Candidate against the patriotic and illustrious leader, I promised the abolition of the executive presidency.
A few days after I was sworn in following the election on 08 Jan 2015, I fell into a big trap by accepting the Chairmanship of the party which I had betrayed. Then I was not only the Executive President but I thought I had the support of a Political Party and could continue as the President if I could build support for the party.
But those who offered the Party to me wanted to show the members of the Party that the Party does not support cut-throats. I was trapped by intelligent political manoeuvring.
The Party supporters of the patriotic illustrious leader whose throat I split, remained within the Party but operated from outside. They formed a new Party and have shown at the recent elections that public support to the illustrious leader was still intact.
I am so crazy for power that I went to Supreme Court to see whether I can be president for one more year and I got the AG to support me.
When I got the Party leadership, I forgot my key promise to abolish the Executive Presidency because it is so good to be in the big chair. I thought by being in the big chair, I could give some buckshees to my false followers and legitimise my leadership. I also protected the former ruling family from prosecution. After all, we were misruling and looting the country together in the previous regime. They can also be useful in future to satisfy my craze for power. A lady Bribery Commissioner appointed by the Green Party was too efficient and was really pursuing the allegations against previous rulers. I sent her home.
Now, I have lost everything. I have not been able to deliver any of the promises I made. I have not tried to abolish the Executive presidency; in fact, I have been working to ensure its continuation so that I could sit in the big chair for 6 more years. The Party which I head, is an empty shell. The Courts disagreed with me in continuing for 6 years.
I am not capable of being a leader; I neither have basic intelligence nor a common touch to relate to the body politic.
I hang my head in shame; I apologise to the country for having caused severe trials and tribulations.
I depart from the chair and head to where I belong.
Paul and Eardley,
Excellent analysis.
The R Family twisted MY3’s Political Future as an Executive President by offering the Chair of the SLFP Party.
MY3 lost his way and deviated from the purpose of becoming a Common Candidate with a promise to abolish the Executive presidency.
Now they are twisting him again by offering to support a SLFP Government from the opposition. This will be disaster not only for MY3 but for the entire country.
If this arrangement goes ahead, the UNP (RW) will win the next Presidential elections. That is what the R Family desires. They are king makers; they will help RW solve the minority issue, the international war crime issue and fix the economy to an irreversible capitalist middle income state. They will keep RW in the chair for 10 years.
The R Family is doing this because they do not have a person to be the President but still, they call the shots. In 10 years, the next gen of the R family will be ready for high office.
Nandana,
Your analysis and conclusion based on events since 8 Jan 2015 is spot-on.
Whatever the outcome is from the current state of affairs, the R Family will ensure an RW Presidency for 10 years from 2019 to fix social and economic issues.
