Prices of cigarettes increased

Prices of cigarettes were increased with effect from midnight yesterday. Gold Leaf, Benson and Pall Mall increased by Rs.2, while Dunhill by Rs.3, the Ceylon Tobacco Company (CTC) said.

Food items increase 20/30 rupees…
If we could eat cigarettes..!
Why not ban altogether all tobacco products and alcohol. The hospital beds are filled with people dying from alcohol and tobacco related diseases. What a waste of money to treat these people in State hospitals! I hear that in the West such people have to pay for their treatment.
