These two pathetically incompetents are fully responsible for their negligence and now they have to answer to the people. It can be that their negligence came from (but either way they are fully responsible):
1) they are rotten to the core and they took bribes from the ISIS-related NTJM Zaharan clan, likely bribes funneled to them via certain ‘big-wig’ Muslim politicos of the former Yahapalanya govt.
2) they did not take bribes (to look the other way) but just succumbed to political pressure from the former Yahapalanaya’s Sinhalese fat-cat politicos who did not give a damn about the country’s national security but desperately just wanted to ensure no harm would come to their “Muslim vote base,” i.e. the vote base that they have counted on to push them ‘over the bar’ at every election, at any cost.
After all, when Lord Buddha statues were vandalized in Dec 2018 in Mawanella and later in Jan 2019 when 100 kilos of explosives, detonators, nitric acid, wire cords, firearms, and a stock of ammunition were found in Wanathawilluwa (NE), you would think police anti-terrorist capabilities would kick in and summarily arrest these Islamist terrorists? No, that did not happen and we saw the horror on Easter Sunday!
So, now the question is who is to be blamed and I am so happy finally the SL Govt. is going to cut deep into the stinking rot and find out who!
The case against these two persons cannot withstand proper legal scritiny.
Of course, they were negligent but the National Security Framework was not in place because of the misdemeanours of Yahapalana’s Defence Minister who was also the King.
Pamb*ya Sirisena was never serious about the National Security Council; it never met regularly and key players including PM and State Minister were ignored.
Pamb*ya Sirisena dis something similar to the economy too by forming his own National Economic Council which did nothing. Finally, two weeks before his departure, Pamb*ya Sirisena dissolves the Economic Council because the head was overseas most of the time !!!
Pamb*ya Sirisena wrecked Yahapalana and should held accountable.
