SLBC staff felicitated their Chairman
The Employees of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation felicitated today their Chairman Hudson Samarasinghe who has been conferred with the Strategic Business Communicator Award by the Association of Business Communicators of India.
A function in this regard organized by the staff and the Trade Unions was held at the Ananda Samarakoon Multi Purpose Studio Complex this morning. The Chief guests were Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella and the Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Dallas Alahapperuma.
Hudson Samarasinghe a Post Graduate Degree holder from the Harvard University joined the SLBC in 1969 as a Programme Producer. During the past four decades he has made an enormous contribution to the broadcasting field in Sri Lanka.
He became the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation for the first time in 1969 and subsequently for the second and third times in 2003 and 2008 respectively. Samarasinghe was also a Member of Parliament from 1992 to 1994 representing the Colombo district.
‘Dasadesin Hathata’ and ‘Ape Rata Yana Atha’ programmes presented by him have become very popular in the recent times with a very high listenership. (niz)
