He thought he was the president. Played the last trump card he had. Sirisena did not give a hoof. Now have nothing else do. Should have thought about before jumping. Too Embarrassed now!
Simple logic.
The conference was an All PARTY Conference.
The Speaker is above Party politics; he does not subscribe to policies and actions of any Party.
Therefore, he did not attend the All PARTY Conference.
The story going around is, the Speaker has Tippexed and altered a document with names and signatures dated 2nd November to 14th November and sent to the president as the list of MPs voted for no confidence motion against MR. That is why the president is now asking it to be rerun. If true, he is a cheat.
The same way, after the Presidential election, president represent and serve the whole of the country. He too is above politics. Specially by his actions since his election, Sirisena has proved that by accommodating and working with all the parties than any other elected president.
Indra,
Do you live in Disneyland?
Just imagine, Karu Jayasuriya, 78 years old, with no doubt shaky fingers, tipexing parliamentary documents!!!
Indra,, listen to the bulls**t and continue living in Wonderland.
What will be the rest of the world think of us?
No fiery Fernando. It IS A FACT that a re-vote has been called by the president on no confidence motion we are referring to , and none of the parties participated in the meeting including the UNP (Ranil Wikremasinghe was there) had objected to that while in the meeting or outside the meeting. Nobody denies and Ranil himself said that he wants the premiership. If he has the majority in the Parliament, a re-vote under less chaotic circumstances where the MP’s can vote as individuals, not by the sound, can reproduce the same result. Anything else is BULLSHIT!
Ranjith,
I empathise with your concerns.
What the rest of the World thinks of us is shown by the World reaction to the illegal appointment of MR as Prime Minister.
Not a single country has recognised the Pollonnaruwa Pambaya’s ‘New Government’.
Some claim the new Government has been recognised by China and Burundi; but no evidence?
When Namal Baby and Amunugama went to Maldives for the Presidential Inauguration, there was no one to receive them at the Airport; at the Ceremony, they were sitting in Public Galleries while former President Chandrika was sitting next to Modhi and the new Maldivian President!
