Sri Lanka will lose USD 13m ?

Sri Lanka will lose USD 13 million of development assistance from the US if it does not address accountability issues raised by Washington, a media report said.
A unanimous decision by the US House Foreign Affairs Committee on Thursday decided to vote on such a ban if the Sri Lankan government does not address accountability issues, ensures media freedom and withdraws emergency regulations.
The US Congressman Howard Berman, a senior figure in the Obama administration moved the resolution to ban aid to Sri Lanka.
This came after the British TV Channel 4”s “Killing Fields” documentary, which was aired at the US Congressional auditorium.
The final decision on the aid cut has to be approved by the Senate and Congress. (PTI)

Let them stop there AID we will not die if they stop aid its better fours so our people will stand along to build the mother land we don’t need those, come forward guys and put your word. They are not giving us aid they are making us to beg we don’t need to do that any more.tel them to keep that aid and build home for the affected from KATHARINA until now many homeles.USA go and looked after those people.

We do not need the US$13m. The peoples Republic of China gave ou president recently a no-strings-attached non-returnable gift of US$13m.
The US Government can keep that money and pay wages and medicare for the poor in their own country.

Who needs their pittance? They can stick it up their u-know-where.
Our real friends China, Russia, Iran etc help us with no strings attached. They don’t give us pittance but billions of dollars of aid for infra-structure building to lift up the country economically to become self-sufficient.
A huge global famine has been predicted. Our Hon President is aware of it and quite rightly called for ‘Api vavamu, rata nagamu’. Fertilisers at subsidised price and free seeds and lessons in agriculture so that every home can grow its own vegetables and fruits to meet the threat of global famine. We can be the grannary of the world then, to feed the world. Imagine the amount of foreign exchange earnings that will pour in to make SL rich!
It will take time but as we did without GSP+, we can deal with this too. This is more a cost saving by US since they are now in a debt crisis over ten trillion dollors. That is why they are a little back-footed even in Libya. They don’t have money and pushing their European fools to spend money on the NATO invasion on Libya.
US took this as an excuse to cut aid to Sri Lanka because at the moment US themselves are in need of aid. If they say they had to cut aid to save their own ass it will damage their “pride”. US cannot fool Sri lankans anymore.
