I think this is good and motorist will be adhered and obey to traffic signal and law. My opinion is there must be a police officer to observe the motorists as well as pedestrians who are not follow the rules and must take an action on the spot. I have noticed that most of pedestrians do not follow the country traffic law. specially, some are converse with mobile phones while crossing the zebra lines too.
