TWO SUSPECTS WHO KILLED TWO POLICE OFFICERS IN WARAKAPOLA SHOT DEAD
The two suspects, involved in the killing of two police officers of the Warakapola police were shot dead this morning.
According to police, the suspects were killed while they were hiding in the Koskalewatta area along the Mirigama road in Warakapola.
A joint operation was launched by the police and the Army in the area since last night to arrest the two suspects.
The suspects who attempted to open fire on the security personnel were killed in retaliatory fire today.
Police added that the bodies of the two suspects were at the Koskalewatta area.
The two, who had arrived to rob a pawning center in the Anguruwella junction in Warakapola last evening opened fire at the police while attempting to escape.
Two police officers were killed as a result of the shooting while another police officer sustained injuries in the incident that took place yesterday afternoon.
