Unitary state concept agreed by all parties – PM
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the government’s ability to create a common stance on the unitary state concept among all political parties was a major achievement.
Speaking during an event in Kalutara Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said none of the previous regimes were able to achieve this milestone.
The Prime Minister meanwhile rejected allegations that the government is attempting to divide the country.
Premier Wickremesinghe stressed it is not his responsibility to compile Constitutions claiming a two thirds majority should agree on the introduction of a Constitution.
The Prime Minister however said the government was able to derive solutions for many concerns through the means of discussions adding the government was able to eliminate the main political threat by persuading all parties to agree on the unitary state concept.

Dear Sama,
You have hit the nail on the head.
This senile Wickremasinghe claims he has got all party approval for a Unitary State.
First of all, what is a Unitary State?
Is the Unitary State composed of 9 Provincial Councils which are more powerful that the Parliament and the President?
See what he did in the 19th Amendment? He made the President an idiot with no powers (fortunately we do have an idiot in the Big Chair !!).
This country does not require names (Unitary State) or powers (President or PM).
What we need is a long term debt reduction solution (Coomaraswamy not borrowing to pay debt), a productivity solution (where citizens can actively produce to increase GDP) and a solution to eradicate corruption (the later feather in our hat is the world’s only anti-corruption ICC unit in Colombo).
With an idiotic set of ministers such as Mangy in Finance, Google Balloon Fernado in Sport, Charity Commissioner Premadasa in Housing, Rajitha big bucks in Health and Harrison, Agri Minister 100% clueless, the UNP minority Government is facing imminent death at the vote in Parliament for the Bodge 2019.
PM, please show evidence of acceptance of the ‘Orumittha Nadu’ by Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (Hon Udaya Gammnapila’s Party).
