Vaiko arrested over protest against MR
MDMK chief Vaiko courted arrest at Parliament Street police station in New Delhi on Friday along with 60 -70 supporters while protesting against Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s visit to India.
Vaiko was arrested while leading the MDMK protest march from Parliament Street to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s residence.
Rajapaksa’s visit led to an outrage among pro-Tamil groups with the DMK too taking to the streets to protest against the Sri Lankan President’s presence in India. The DMK, led by M Karunanidhi and his daughter Kanimozhi, are leading protests in Chennai.
The DMK-backed Tamil Ealam Supporters’ Organisation will hold a protest wearing black outfits. The group will also stage a black flag protest at Tirupati. Prohibitory orders have been imposed in Tirupati in view of the protests.
Rajapaksa would not be visiting New Delhi, officials asserted, dismissing notions that the Sri Lankan President might engage with some of the Indian leaders with a view to seek New Delhi’s support on the US moved resolution against Sri Lanka at the next UN Human Rights Council sessions in March. Vaiko, Big Mama, Karunanidi and daughter are all bigotted rabid dogs who are frenzied with anger over the total massacre of the LTTE hierarchy and rank and file by SL heroic Security Forces led by Hon MR and Hon GR.
They know very well a few hundred SL Tamil citizens who were held as human shield to protect the LTTE hierarchy (a war crime) were killed by the LTTE themselves as the SL Tamil hostages fled across the lagoon to the safety of SL army. No SL Tamil citizens were killed by the army. In that case why did the hostages flee to the safety of the army? In fact the army operation was called Humanitarian Operation to save the SL Tamil hostages. It was also a War of Liberation of the entire country from the LTTE terrorist grip after 30 long years of bloodshed. VP killed his own Tamil political opponents including his own cousin known as ‘Mahattaya’, who was his second-in-command. He forced into service many Tamil school children who were snatched from schools, to fight in the front lines, to face certain death. It was a war crime. DMK and VDMK never protested against it. Thereby they were partisan to this terrible crime by VP against his own SL Tamils.
Kanimozhi has been to SL to tour the N & E and interview the freed SL Tamil hostages. She and her delegation from TN had seen for themselves the happy smiles of the freed 300,000 plus SL Tamil hostages who had been settled fast on newly built and furnished houses. Work had been created for the able bodied. Their children had resumed their free education. They had proper meals. Above all they were free of the threat of death from the LTTE. I invite them, including Vaiko to visit the N & E which has been fast developed with infrastructure etc and bursting with an economic boom. There is no poverty and hunger as in the millions of slums in TN. These TN bigots should be doing something about there own problems in TN instead of rabid protests against our Hon President. They know they are incapable of solving their real issues. Hence to score elction winning points both sides of the TN govt are resorting to cheap street protests against our sovereign nation and its govt leaders.
Hang on there for a minute, Nicholas, the pro-tamil activists including diaspora and elements in Tamil Nadu have been successful in bringing a resolution calling for an international enquiry into alleged war crimes committed by the SL Armed Forces in Jan-May 2009.
This resolution will be in the UN in March.
And also, erudite people don’t call other human beings “rabid dogs”. Nicholas, please learn to disagree, politely and diplomatically.
