WANNIARACHCHI WINS BOXING GOLD AT COMMONWEALTH GAMES IN NEW DELHI

Manju Wanniarachchi won the Gold Medal for Sri Lanka at the Commonwealth Games Boxing Bantam Weight 56-kilo category a little while ago.
This is the first time Sri Lanka won a medal at Boxing in the Commonwealth Games in 60 years.

A note of caution; Do you know where heroes end up in Sri Lanka? I know a retired General who was a hero 15 months ago and was garlanded for his feats in the battlefield by the Commander-in-Chief. Unless you take care my dear, that’s where you will end up too.

The name calling does not get you or anyone, anywhere.
My message is that there appears be no place for real heroes in Sri Lanka.
All spaces are firmly occupied by self-appointed heroes who excel at selfish vainglory.
DC is unfortunately so full of himself he does not realise the fallacy of his arguments. He is generalising that there are no heroes in SL. Ofcourse there are heroes. It is our true Sinhala hamuda veerayo who rescued the 300,000+ Tamil civilians held hostage by the barbaric, Tamil fascist, self-appointed leader of the Tamils VP, in the final War of Liberation. While the Tamil civilian hostages escaped to the side of the brave Sinhala Humdava across the lagoon, LTTE suicide cadres detonated their suicide jackets while mingling with the civilians in their rush to escape the brute. Other LTTE Tamil cadres machine-gunned the innocent Tamil civilians brutally, murdering people of their own race, old men, women and children on the orders of evil VP. The Sinhala soldiers who fought hand-to-hand bravely despite the threat of suicide cadres among the Tamil civilians who fled to the army side, and the threat of cadres with hidden automatic weapons posing as civilians, were heroes as they sacrificed their lives and limbs to save the Tamil civilians, who are afterall Sri Lankan citizens.
The Sri lankan army officers are heroes who fought bravely to rescue the Tamil civilians. Above all, the Commander-in-Chief, Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his brother, the Defence Secretary, are true heroes as they were the architects of the total annhilation of the LTTE and its vain-glorious barbaric leader VP, who boasted he will never be defeated, that MR is only having ‘pipe dreams’.
There were other heroes in the Security Forces around the country who fought and sacrificed the lives and limbs for the liberation of the country from the evil LTTE.
DC is ofcourse blind to all these as he cannot bear to see it, hear it and admit it. That is his problem. Such people have no place in this country as they are LTTE supporters who still delude themselves saying, ‘VP is not dead. He will come back for eelam war V’. DC can wait till doomsday for it. Better still, let the kallathoni return to his homeland, Tamil Nadu, and fight for eelam there for the Tamil nation in India. One less mouth to feed!
