We have done nothing to destroy religious harmony: BBS
Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagodaatte GnanasaraThera today claimed they had done nothing to destroy religious harmony and whatever they did was in the open and exposed to the media.
“We do not act in secret. Whatever we do is known to the media. We have done nothing to disrupt religious harmony. Whatever we reveal is done with much care. There will be a blood bath in the country if we really reveal all what we know,” Ven. Gnanasara Thera said.
Ven. Gnanasara Thera said Pakistan extremist groups were attempting to use Sri Lanka as a transit point to attack India and pointed out that the security forces needed to tighten the security along the Northern and Eastern coastal belt more than it was done during the time of the war.
Responding to a question regarding the casino issue, he said it was the BBS which began the protest against establishing casinos in Sri Lanka and assured they would support those who act against the casinos like the JHU.

Ven Galgoda Atthe Gnanasara, leader of the BBS, is leading the moral rijuvenation of Sinhala Buddhists and Theravada Buddhism in our ‘Miracle of Aisa’.
3 decades of severe Tamil terrorism has left or nation, impoverished, morally. The Sinhala Buddhists are reeling from the blood sacrifice of 30,000 Sinhala Buddhist youth lost in retrieving the tamil citizens from the clutches of LTTE.
Repeated bombings, slaughter of women and children and merciless gun point killings carried out by Tamil terrorists has benumbed the senses of the Sinhala Buddhists.
This is where Ven GAG and the BBS are providing excellent leadership. They are leading us in moral rejuvenation. This is extremely important social development in view of pressure from Wahabism, Catholic expansionism and separatist theology and the Tamil diaspora’s relentless pursuit of Ealam.
Any social movement in a modern civilised country should respect the rule of law. If it is illegal to break and enter a premises of religious worship, and the members of such a movement do so, where does the law stand?
It cannot treat two people differently. The law must be seen to be upheld, and ordinary citizens must feel protected by the law-enforcement officers. If this does not happen, it is a lawless society with the security of the people not ensured.
