Will not allow taxes that adversely affect public – President

President Maithripala Sirisena said he would not allow economists to enforce any tax that would adversely affect the public.
The President made these comments at a function in Polonnaruwa. If there are any economists who do not think of the public wellbeing they are welcome to leave their jobs and go, President claimed.

What a beginning to the New Year.
“If there are any officials or economic experts who recommend measures such as increasing VAT aggravating the suffering of people, I am not ready to listen to them; I will send them home,” said the President.
Sir, your Cabinet consists 97 Ministers, each costing LKR 500m per month to the tax-paying masses. Where is the money for other essential Government services including free education, fertilizer subsidies?
The President also said “the government that came to power on January 08, 2015 had been able to end nepotism, corruption, family bandyism, fraud and dictatorship and his New Year resolution was to relieve the people of their suffering.”
At least 10 top leaders in the Sena-Singhe Government have appointed siblings and cousins to top positions in Government.
People are electing these IDIOTS to the parliament to govern the country.
And they HOPE they have elected the BEST.
And they HOPE they will get the BEST than before.
BUT now people have to be VIGILANT for what they DO.
Because each STEP they keep is not what people NEEDS.
They STILL look for others MISTAKES.
NOTHING done for the PEOPLE yet.
They speak ANGLE STORIES.
But DO NOTHING.
STOP babbling, do work.
WE ARE WAITING .
After more than 1 YEAR, STILL waiting.
