Would not allow anybody to divide the country, united by valiant war heroes – President
President Maithripala Sirisena says he would not allow anybody to divide the country which was united by the valiant war heroes shedding their blood.
If our war heroes wouldn’t have given their utmost commitment, knowledge, intelligence and experience for the country, we wouldn’t have secured the unity of the country, he added. He emphasized the current government never under-estimate that utmost commitment done by the valiant war heroes for the motherland.
The President made these remarks at the ceremony held in the Auditotium of Defense College in Colombo to hand over the keys of the houses of second housing scheme, constructed for the war heroes in Kandy District, under the ‘Api Venuven Api’ Ranaviru Housing Scheme.

Then Mr President, while addressing the grievances of ethnic groups residing in North & East, keep all the prevailing defense mechanisms in N & E intact.
Mr President, the country is already divided. Please accept the fact that at least half the country is for Mahinda. The other half is not only yours, it is divided among many others.
Mr President,
The country has already been divided. The north and east are on their own; nobody cares for them.
The north is ruled by a nut who is only interested in writing genocide resolutions. The welfare is looked after by a ex-arms merchant who is on Interpol’s red list.
The east is ruled by an ex-terrorist who massacred 600 policemen who surrendered to the Government of Late Ranasinghe Premadasa.
So Mr President, don’t worry over separation. After Geneva meeting of UNHCR in Sept, the international process for separation will commence.
Mr President, as there are two vacancies in your Cabinet, suggest you offer them to Vigneswaram and Col Karuna.
The president gives his assurance to safeguard the unity of our country. The people are free to vote but they vote on the knowledge and experiences they have had of the relevant candidates. The MAJORITY have voted for Mr Sirisena and then later for Mr Wickramasinghe. The way the two leaders will take the country forward will, hopefully, convince more people that they love the country and work towards the development and prosperity of the people. Before we build concrete structures we have to build bridges of peace and educate ourselves to think as one people, one nation and one family. In my opinion, both these leaders realise this and also prioritise the re-introduction of justice, tolerance, understanding and compassion among our peoples.
We have a funny Government, an SCR (Sirisena-Chandrika_Ranil) Government (better known as a Screw Government)!
The Parliament couldn’t find an opposition; so in the traditions of Westminster, the Parliament appointed the TNA leader, Rajavarothayam Sampanthan, who was elected on the basis of separation stated in its manifesto.
Now, The Leader of the Opposition stands in Parliament and states that he is obliged to protect the rights of the Sinhala majority and all other minorities. He also says (based on his prime belief in Separation) that the country should be divided into 4-5 geographical regions.
Is this comedy or a circus, I wonder?
Firstly, the leader of the opposition should undergo name change; I suggest Bedumvaadaye Mudiyansalage Sampath !
Secondly, if we believe in him, the country should be divided as follows:
1. Western province (named “Patali” after the illustrious young man who is Minister of the Metropolis)
2. North and part of the East (named “Prabakaran” after the illustrious inventor of the suicide belt)
3.Southern Province and Ratnapura and Moneragala Districts (named “Rajapakasapura after the illustrious statesman who decimated terrorism)
4. Central Province and Badulla and Kegalle Districts (No suggestions for name, over to you, fellow bloggers)
5. NCP and NWP (named “Sirisenagama” after the illustrious leader who vanquished the illustrious war winner)
So, we end up with 5 separate states according to the dreams of Hon Bedumvaadaye Mudiyansalage Sampath, Leader of the Opposition and we will live happily ever after! What a prospect.
Well done, Eng P Maheswaram.
Your thoughts represent originality.
I hope our leader of the opposition, Hon Bedumvaadaye Mudiyansalage Sampath reads your comments.
Your names for the 5 separate states are excellent. My suggestions are:
1. Western province (named “Patalipura” after the illustrious young man who is Minister of the Metropolis)
2. North and part of the East (named “Prabakaradeniya” after the illustrious inventor of the suicide belt, the ‘deniya’ gives a national flavour)
3.Southern Province and Ratnapura and Moneragala Districts (named “ Maha Rajapakasapura” after the illustrious statesman who decimated terrorism)
4. Central Province and Badulla and Kegalle Districts (Ratwattegama)
5. NCP and NWP (named “Royal Sirisenapura” after the illustrious leader who vanquished the illustrious war winner, the ‘Royal’ is for his alma-mater, Royal College, Anuradhapura and also in memory of the unique gloveless handshake he received from the Elizabeth Maharani)
Thank you Eng. P.Maheswaran for the offer to suggest suitable names for the Central and two other Provinces for the name change.
Let me propose the name of ‘ Maha Nayaka Pura for the Central Province to honour and pay respect to the two Dignitaries for their contributions to the division of the country.
I shall leave the other two Provinces to some other.
